last night the stars aligned and i had the most perfect boudoir session i’ve ever had!
nichole begich did all of the make-up and assisted with the boudoir session.
Meet S: she’s a new client i seridiputiously met through her girlfriend. it’s a complicated story, but while at the Rarefied Light show at the museum a few weeks ago, her friend was asking photographers for a good portrait photographer and another photographer walked her friend up to me and we chatted. I didn’t expect to hear anything back … it happens like that a lot, but, surprisingly, S contacted me and we met for coffee a few days later. the concepts were discussed, and the appointment was set.
these photos are going to be a surprise for her fiance on the morning of their out-of-state wedding — about 3 weeks from now. how’s that for an excellent start of a marriage!
p.s. for all the ladies who have thought they would love to do something like this for their sweethearts, let me tell you a little secret: nichole and i will be hosting a “boudoir 101 session” for ladies to come and see what what happens behind the scenes of a boudoir shoot. this is your chance to feel comfortable before setting up your own appointment with nichole and i. details and date will be announced in the next 2-3 weeks.
it was a super sunny day – crazy sunny and the fall colors were gorgeous. we avoided the long trip to the falls because the sunshine was so spectacular that going into the woods with the bugs, bears and moose wouldn’t have been much fun. i love fall photo shoots!
pamela is a local actress who has been involved in “Everybody love Whales” and has been working pretty steadily since the movie started shooting. She’s loving it and has the people skills and personality to make this her career, I’m sure of it! pamela was in a few weeks ago for her first head shot session with me, then returned for a longer session for more portfolio building images for her website. again, this was a kick butt session loaded with lots of laughs — she’s always a pleasure to work with!
Acacia, Mariah Carey’s doppelganger! Acacia was a blast to shoot and her smile is amazingly beautiful! Her brother was my “assistant” for the afternoon shoot – which was fabulous. Thanks, Makana, for your help, and Acacia for the super fun shoot!
Last night I shot the ATY kiddos head shots for their upcoming plays. Most of the children had seen my spend a bunch of time seeing all of their fun plays over the summer. I got to meet Puck in real life – not as Puck – but as herself. She complimented me on the images from the summer, although she said she always looked nuts. I explained to her that her play was Genevieve’s favorite play of the entire conservatory run and that she is what partially made Genevieve love the play so much … and having a six year old tell you at Shakespeare is better than the Lion King pretty much kicks butt :) FOR THE REST OF THE IMAGES – CLICK HERE.
She was/is so beautiful and so much fun to work with. We experimented with visiting a new place. The sun never came out for us, but that’s OK – she’s just as beautiful without it.
This was my first time shooting a senior with their vehicle and it was a blast. Sylvan was so fun to work with – very mellow and cool. Thanks for a great time and congrats on your 2011 Wasilla High graduation!
